The Carrying Stones works on panel and paper pick apart thorny data issues behind the gender pay gap, unequal representation of women in the arts, film, and television, as well as in leadership positions. Also in the spotlight are mothers, adult caretakers, and women in academia.
Whereas the sculpture/portrait pairs tell the deeply personal work stories of individual hard-working women, these works on panel and paper take a broader, numbers-based look at gendered work inequity.
